Enabling you to be the best Counsellor/Therapist you can be
Supervision is about you as supervisee making sure your client is safe, you're working ethically, and to the best of your ability.
Supervision is also a wonderful opportunity, built in to your professional practice, for you to evolve as a counsellor/therapist. It's a forum in which you can deeply explore your understanding of your clients, what they teach you, how they challenge you to grow.
I'm passionate about using supervision to help you stay passionate and curious in the work yourself. I want to help you become the best practitioner you can. That's by learning from the client, learning through the supervisory relationship, and expanding your grasp of the work through trying out different things, getting feedback...
I'm really interested in outcomes, and have worked with and developed the use of CORE as an individual and service evaluation tool.
I became accredited as a supervisor (individuals) in 2001.
I've worked with supervisees from various primary modalities keen to expand their learning from the client and in the working context. I find that discussing transference and counter-transference can be really helpful with some supervisees; I also find the solution focussed approach really efficient - eg, 'How do you and I need to be talking right now that's going to be max benefit to your client?' My own supervision has been with psychodynamic, person-centred, and integrative supervisors.
If it's an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist you're looking for as a supervisor, do get in touch and let's see if we can make a good 'fit'!
